THE PROBLEM

You know exactly what has to get done this week. The newsletter, the event graphics, whatever your ED asked for on Friday afternoon. What you can't see is what comes after that, for you.

You've been doing nonprofit comms for years, and somewhere along the way you stopped being able to tell whether you're stuck or just tired.

Maybe you want the title. Maybe you want to be in the room when the campaign gets decided instead of hearing about it when someone needs a graphic. Maybe you just want to know whether staying is worth it.

The Nonprofit Comms Leadership Assessment scores you across the six comms leadership domains and gives you a career stage. If you've taken it, you probably looked at your lowest score and started wondering whether that's on you or on your organization.

That's a fair thing to wonder. (Honestly, it's the RIGHT thing to wonder.)

Some low scores mean there's a skill you haven't had the chance to build yet. Others mean you haven't been brought into the conversations where that work happens. From the inside, those two look almost the same, which is why so many comms leaders spend months working hard on the wrong one.

WHY NOBODY HAS TOLD YOU

Think about who evaluates your work. Your ED, probably. Maybe a VP of something that isn't comms. People who hired a communications person precisely because communications isn't what they do.

They know whether they liked the annual report. Whether you're ready to run comms for an organization twice this size is outside what they can see.

From where you're sitting, every low score on the Nonprofit Comms Leadership Assessment looks like something you did wrong. It rarely is, and nobody on your staff or your board is going to be the one to tell you.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

✔️ A 30-minute call with a former CCO
I read your assessment scores and your intake form before we talk, so we spend the whole call on your actual situation. You get my honest read as someone who has done your job and the one above it.

✔️ Know what's actually holding you back

I'll tell you which of your low scores are skill gaps and which ones are access gaps, so you stop grinding on the wrong problem.

✔️ What to do first
You'll walk away knowing the one step I'd take first if I were in your role right now, and how it connects to where you want your career to go.

BONUS: Think Like a CCO course
You also get full access to my 6-week Think Like a CCO course (a $99 value). It's yours to keep, so you can go through it at your own pace and start working on those gaps right away.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. Take the free Nonprofit Comms Leadership Assessment. Already have your results? Skip ahead to step 2.

  2. Purchase your Leadership Review and then fill out the intake form which will be sent to you upon receipt. This is where you tell me what's really going on, so don't hold back. (I've heard it all, I promise.)

  3. Book your 30-minute call. I read your intake form and your assessment results before we talk, so we can spend the whole call on what's actually going on and what I'd do next if I were in your shoes.

ABOUT ME

Hi. I'm Julie Masson and I spent 18 years in nonprofit communications, working my way from "the social media girl" to Chief Communications Officer (and yes, I've been the team of one). Along the way, I learned what it took to move from order-taker to strategic partner and show leadership that communications drives real results. That's what earned me a seat at the table.
